The Perfect Inexpensive Hobby

Are you feeling bored these days with nothing to do but stare at the ceiling underneath those comfy blankets? While resting is not bad, doing it most of the time is kind of sad. You should get out there and enjoy the many fun things life has to offer with your friends, family and other people. Get out of your house especially this summer to experience new things and meet new friends. Don’t be antisocial because you’ll get nothing out of that attitude of yours.

If you want, you can certainly go to the mall and shop, go abroad to travel, enroll in a foreign language course, etc. The downside is that these things involve a lot of bucks so if you’re short on money this summer, considering that you don’t go to school and therefore has no allowance, then look for fun things you can do for free with friends. Play sports that you’re good at and if your problem is you don’t know sports, there’s one that’s very easy to learn. I’m sure you’ve heard of disc golf or more popularly known as Frisbee golf.

Disc golf is a flying disc game and at the same time a precision and accuracy sport, in which a flying disc is thrown at a target by individual players. It is a great recreational sport for all ranges of physical ability. That is why anyone can play this game. From old retired military veterans to high school kids, different types of people are into it these days. You might as well join in the fun to know what the hype is all about. I’ll tell you why.

First, it is quite a very simple game. Disc golf is basically golf but instead of using golf balls you use hard plastic discs. The objective of the game is to traverse a course from beginning to end in the fewest number of throws of the disc.  Wherever your throw lands, you pick up the disc from that spot, and throw it again, aiming for the pin. You start off on a concrete platform which is similar to a golf tee, and throw towards the basket target, until you get your disc in the basket. Disc gold courses are often lined with trees and even water hazards which makes for a very challenging shot. Other similarities with the traditional golf include the drivers, mid-range discs, and putters, although you can easily play a round of disc golf with a single disc if that’s the only thing available.

Second, not only is disc golf very enjoyable, it’s also cheap. You don’t have to worry about money. Gold discs prices ranges from only $6 or $7 at the local sports store, which is all you really need to get started. This is extremely cheaper compared to other hobbies like shopping, watching movies in the cinema, photography, scrapbooking, etc. that you don’t have to worry about finding yourself in debt plus you get the same amount of fun plus the excitement of playing in the field with your close friends. The point is, this game is for everyone. So buy that disc, invite your friends and get that fun started.
